If you prefer to curate tags and folders by hand, LinkAce or Linkwarden will feel more deliberate.
Deployment notes
Karakeep is listed with support signals for linux, docker. Check the upstream documentation before exposing it to the internet, review authentication defaults, and keep backups outside the primary host.
The Docker Compose file starts three containers: the app, Meilisearch for search, and headless Chrome for fetching pages. Data sits in SQLite and an assets folder inside one data directory, which keeps backups simple. Plan on roughly 2 GB of RAM, mostly for Chrome. AI tagging is optional. If you enable it with a hosted API, the content of what you save is sent to that provider. A local Ollama model avoids that at the cost of needing more hardware.

Yes. Leave the AI settings empty and it still saves, archives, screenshots, and indexes everything. You add tags and lists by hand.

Yes. It imports Pocket exports, Raindrop exports, Omnivore, and standard browser bookmark HTML files, among others.
