Seafile is a strong file-sync choice when performance, efficient libraries, and reliable desktop sync matter more than an app ecosystem. It is often simpler than a full collaboration suite for pure file workflows.

Seafile is listed with support signals for linux, docker. Check the upstream documentation before exposing it to the internet, review authentication defaults, and keep backups outside the primary host.
The official Docker Compose setup runs Seafile with MariaDB and a caching service. One thing to know before you start: Seafile stores data as deduplicated blocks, not as ordinary files on disk. You cannot browse the storage folder directly, and backups must capture the data directory and the databases at a consistent point. The Community Edition is open source. The Professional Edition adds search and other features and is free for up to three users.

Can I access Seafile files directly on the server?
Not as normal files. Data is stored in blocks. Use the clients, WebDAV, or the seaf-fuse tool to see files in their original form.
