Outline is a polished team knowledge base for documentation, onboarding, decisions, and internal handbooks. It works well where permissions, search, and a clean editor matter more than personal note experiments.

The tradeoff is that it expects supporting services and team-oriented administration. Plan identity, email, object storage, and backups before replacing a company wiki.

Outline is listed with support signals for linux, docker. Check the upstream documentation before exposing it to the internet, review authentication defaults, and keep backups outside the primary host.
